Panjab University UBS and CSDE Conclude 30-Hour Skill Enhancement Course on Data Science and AI Using Python
The University Business School (UBS), Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh in collaboration with the Centre for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (CSDE) PU, organised the valedictory ceremony of the 30-hour Skill Enhancement Course on "Data Science & AI Bootcamp Using Python."
Chandigarh, August 11, 2026: The University Business School (UBS), Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh in collaboration with the Centre for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (CSDE) PU, organised the valedictory ceremony of the 30-hour Skill Enhancement Course on "Data Science & AI Bootcamp Using Python."
The course was designed to equip students with practical knowledge and hands-on skills in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Python, thereby strengthening their technical and analytical capabilities.
Vice President, Operations and Factory Manager, YANMAR Agricultural Machinery India, Sumit Kaplish, graced the valedictory ceremony as the Chief Guest, bringing a valuable industry perspective to the occasion. Drawing on anecdotes from his professional journey, Kaplish said that while specific technical skills evolve alongside a dynamic economy, the ability to learn and adapt remains an enduring asset. He encouraged students to complement their technical acumen with simplicity and a strong sense of responsibility as they shape their careers in data science and AI.
Chairperson, UBS PU, Prof. Meena Sharma, addressed the gathering and highlighted PU’s commitment to holistic development alongside skill enhancement. She noted that the course successfully bridges the gap between theoretical concepts and practical, experiential learning, and advised students to treat the insights gained as a technical compass for their professional journeys ahead.
Honorary Director, CSDE, Prof. Suveera Gill spoke about the vision and objectives underlying CSDE's skill enhancement courses, underscoring the importance of hands-on technical exposure and the responsible use of emerging tools such as chatbots and dashboards.
Course Coordinator, UBS, Prof. Luxmi Malodia commended the active participation and enthusiasm shown by the students throughout the bootcamp and expressed confidence that the skills acquired would serve them well in both academic pursuits and future careers.
Coordinator, CSDE, Prof. Tejinderpal Singh, extended a vote of thanks to the dignitaries and participants present at the valedictory ceremony.
The valedictory ceremony marked the successful culmination of the 30-hour skill development course and highlighted the shared commitment of UBS and CSDE to strengthening students' employability through industry-relevant, future-oriented skill development.
