Panjab University to Host 7th Law Convocation on April 23
The Department of Laws, Panjab University, Chandigarh, along with the University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), PURC Ludhiana, PUSSGRC Hoshiarpur, and PURC Muktsar, is set to organise the 7th Law Convocation on 23 April at the New Multi-Purpose Auditorium, Sector 25, Panjab University.
Chandigarh, April 22, 2026: The Department of Laws, Panjab University, Chandigarh, along with the University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), PURC Ludhiana, PUSSGRC Hoshiarpur, and PURC Muktsar, is set to organise the 7th Law Convocation on 23 April at the New Multi-Purpose Auditorium, Sector 25, Panjab University.
The Law Convocation will be graced by Justice (Retd.) Dinesh Maheshwari, Chairperson, Law Commission of India, as the Chief Guest. PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig, will preside over the function. The event is expected to be attended by legal luminaries, including High Court Judges.
Justice (Retd.) Dinesh Maheshwari has earlier served as a Judge of the Rajasthan High Court, the Allahabad High Court, and as Chief Justice of the High Courts of Meghalaya and Karnataka, before being elevated as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India in 2019.
Degrees will be conferred upon students of LL.M., LL.B. (3-year), and B.A./B.Com. LL.B. (Hons.) programmes who completed their examinations in May 2024. A total of one medal, namely the Prof. D.N. Jauhar Gold Medal, along with the Achiever’s Award, will also be presented on the occasion.
Students today participated in the mandatory rehearsal at the venue. Only those who participated in the rehearsal will be permitted to attend the convocation ceremony.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the event, detailed arrangements have been made regarding entry, parking, and security. Designated entry points for students and the general public include the U.I.E.T Gate and Dr Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences & Hospital Gate. Parking facilities have been arranged near Boys’ Hostel No. 8, the U.I.E.T Building, and surrounding areas of the auditorium.
