Panjab University to Host 2nd Non-Teaching Employees Premier League Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament from July 17

Chandigarh, July 16, 2026: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh is set to organise the 2nd Edition of the Panjab University Non-Teaching Employees Premier League Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament (T-10) from 17th to 28th July, 2026 at the Athletics Ground, PU Campus, Chandigarh.
The tournament is being organised by the Panjab University Non-Teaching Employees Federation with the objective of promoting physical fitness, teamwork and camaraderie among the University's non-teaching employees.
PU Registrar Prof. Y.P. Verma will inaugurate the tournament on 17th July, 2026. Dean Students Welfare Prof. Y.K. Rawal and Dean College Development Council Prof. Ravi Inder Singh will also be present on the occasion.
A total of 24 teams, representing various teaching departments, administrative branches and support units of the University, will compete in the tournament. The teams have been divided into eight groups, with league matches scheduled from 17th to 25th July, followed by the quarter-finals on 26th July, semi-finals on 27th July and the final on 28th July, 2026 at the Athletics Ground.
The tournament carries the message "A Good Health is the Best Wealth", reflecting PU’s commitment to promoting employee well-being through sports and recreational activities.
The organising committee comprises Honey Thakur, Deepak Sharma, Ashwani Kumar, Gurjant Singh, Harpal Singh, Sushil Kumar, Amit Tanwar and Rohit Sood.
