Panjab University to Host 18th Chandigarh Science Congress in November

Chandigarh , July 30, 2025: Panjab University (PU) will organise the 18th Chandigarh Science Congress (CHASCON-2025) on the theme of “Empowering Humanity: Science, Technology, and Healthcare for All” from November 6–8, 2025.

PU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig unveiled the first official poster of CHASCON-2025 in the presence of DUI Prof. Yojna Rawat, Director R&D Cell Prof. Meenakshi Goyal, the CHASCON Coordinator, Prof. Kashmir Singh, Co-coordinators, Prof. Deepak Gupta and Dr. Naveen Gupta, and other senior PU officers.

The prestigious national event will be held under the guidance of Prof. Vig at its Chandigarh campus. It will bring together researchers, faculty, and students from across India – last year’s Congress drew roughly 1,200 participants.

CHASCON-2025 aims to provide a platform for young scientists to present their research and contribute to India’s emerging leadership in science and technology.

“Technology is continuously evolving and improving quality of life, presenting both challenges and opportunities for the students who will develop future innovations,” said Prof. Renu Vig. She noted that the Congress will inspire young researchers to think creatively about solving human and healthcare challenges.

CHASCON is one of North India’s largest science gatherings. Organised annually by PU in collaboration with the Chandigarh Region Innovation and Knowledge Cluster (CRIKC), the conference features plenary lectures, panels, and an innovation expo. The detailed program and registration link will be released soon on the CHASCON website. Interested participants, sponsors, and exhibitors are invited to contact the organising committee for more information.

The Chandigarh Science Congress (CHASCON) was initiated in 2007 to provide a research platform for students at Panjab University and has since grown into a national-level forum. Each year, it brings together scholars from PU and partner institutions (through CRIKC, which includes PGIMER, PEC, IISER-Mohali, IIT-Ropar, IMTECH, CSIR-CSIO, and others) to share work on science, technology, and allied fields.
