Panjab University SSBUICET Enactus Paints Independence Day in the Colours of Inclusion
Enactus SSBUICET, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh celebrated the spirit of Independence Day with specially-abled children of Samarth Jiyo, Sector 15, Chandigarh, through an engaging “Workshop of Colors: Celebrating Independence, Creativity & Inclusion.”
Chandigarh, August 14, 2026: Enactus SSBUICET, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh celebrated the spirit of Independence Day with specially-abled children of Samarth Jiyo, Sector 15, Chandigarh, through an engaging “Workshop of Colors: Celebrating Independence, Creativity & Inclusion.”
The initiative blended patriotism, creativity and inclusion, providing the children with diverse abilities a joyful platform for self-expression through art and interactive activities.
Prof. Seema Kapoor, Faculty Advisor, Enactus Panjab University and President, Corporate Sustainability Council, WICCI Chandigarh shared that the true spirit of independence lies in ensuring that every individual has the freedom and opportunity to express, participate and belong. She emphasized that celebrating Independence Day with the Samarth community reinforces the values of dignity, inclusion and equal opportunity that lie at the heart of true freedom.
The workshop was conducted by Puneet Madan, Coordinator, Social Substance and resource person, who engaged the participants in colourful Independence Day-themed creative activities. She highlighted the role of art and creativity in encouraging self-expression, confidence and meaningful social connection, while creating an inclusive space where everyone could participate with joy.
Harshnoor Kaur, President of the Enactus team shared that the initiative sought to take the Independence Day celebration beyond conventional festivities by creating meaningful moments of creativity, interaction and companionship with members of Samarth.
Samaira, Event Head, highlighted the enthusiastic participation and joy displayed throughout the workshop, while Aryan Kamboj, Innovation Head, emphasized the value of creative and human-centred approaches in fostering greater social inclusion.
The celebration concluded with participants showcasing their colourful creations. Expressing their gratitude, Puja, General Secretary and Meena, Hostel Warden, Samarth Jiyo, thanked the Enactus team for making the Independence Day celebration memorable for the residents of Samarth Jiyo.
