Chandigarh, August 12, 2026: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh organised a tree plantation drive at Neerja Bhanot Hall, Girls’ Hostel No. 10 of South Campus.
The event was encouraged by the Department of Student Welfare Office, South Campus Hostels and Department of Microbiology.
A meaningful aspect of this year’s plantation drive was planting of a sapling (Gulmohar) in loving memory of Jyoti, Research Scholar and resident of Girls’ Hostel No. 10.
The sapling was planted as a living tribute to her memory, symbolising remembrance, continuity, hope and the enduring connection between life and nature.
