Panjab University organised comprehensive free Health Screening, Counselling and Health Awareness Camp

Chandigarh October 2, 2025: Panjab University, Chandigarh organised a comprehensive free Health Screening, Counselling and Health Awareness Camp at Boys Hostel No. 8 in collaboration with the Department of Community Medicine and School of Public health, PGIMER, Chandigarh. Dr. Mahesh Thakur (Warden, P.U, Boys Hostel no. 08) under the aegis of Prof Amit Chauhan (Dean student Welfare, PU, Chd) led the camp with the public health team from PGIMER.
The team, guided by Dr. Vineeth Rajagopal (Associate Professor, DCM & SPH, PGI), consisted of Mr. Amit (JLT), Annkita Thakur, Pritika, Sefali Mishra, Mehak, Jasmit Kaur, Jaity Vashisht, Jaispinder Kaur Punia accompanied by PU Volunteers – Om Prakash and Jaskirat Singh. The camp saw enthusiastic participation from the residents of BH-8. The camp offered the following services: Consultation on any health related concern from PGI doctors for all Panjab University Students; Counselling and referral; Testing of bp height, weight etc.; Free lab diagnostic tests for participants (fasting blood sugar, lipid profile, cholesterol); and Health awareness talks.
