Chandigarh, August 20, 2026: The Centre for Social Work, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh organised a lecture on "My Life, My Nation— Celebrating the Festival of Self-Protection through the Pledge of Nasha Mukt Bharat."
Chairperson, Prof. Monica Munjial Singh welcomed the guest and delivered the keynote address. The programme was graced by Dr.Upneet Kaur, Department of Human Rights and Duties; Dr.Kuldeep Singh, Department of Police Administration; Dr. Anu Gupta, University Institute of Fashion Technology (UIFT); Dr. Paramjit Kang, Department of Life Long Learning (DLLL); Dr. Archana Chauhan, Department of Zoology; and Dr. Anju Goyal, Department of Statistics along with their students and scholars.
The keynote session was addressed by BK Anita Didi, Senior Rajyog Teacher, who encouraged students to focus on spirituality, good character, morality and self-discipline as essential foundations for a meaningful and responsible life.
The speaker emphasised the importance of developing inner strength and positive values while staying away from drugs and other harmful influences. She highlighted that individual choices, self-discipline and strong moral values can contribute to healthier families, stronger communities and a better society.
The programme concluded with a Rakhi celebration. Rakhis brought specially from Mount Abu were shared with the participants, symbolising protection, care, respect and the strengthening of positive relationships.
The session provided students with an inspiring message of self-protection, value-based living and drug-free choices.
