Chandigarh, August 25, 2026: The Department of Library and Information Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh, organized an Orientation Programme to welcome the newly admitted students of the Two-Year Integrated Master’s in Library & Information Science and Two-Year Integrated Master’s in Library & Information Science with Research on Tuesday.
The programme was designed to introduce students to the departmental environment, academic structure, learning opportunities, and avenues for their academic and professional growth.
Dr. Khuspreet Singh Brar, Chairman of the Department, extended a warm welcome to the students and shared the vision and mission of the department. He highlighted the various activities, projects, and initiatives planned for the academic session 2026–2027, encouraging students to actively participate and contribute to the department’s tradition of excellence in academics, research, and sports. Subsequently, Research Scholar Mr. Jasbir Singh delivered an informative presentation on the Department of Library and Information Science and provided valuable information about Panjab University, Chandigarh. The faculty members then shared their views and encouraged the students to focus on their academic and professional development. The programme concluded with self-introductions by all the participants, providing an opportunity for students and faculty members to interact and become familiar with one another. The orientation programme concluded with an interactive session and meaningful discussion with the students.
