Panjab University Library Department Celebrates Constitution Day with Preamble Reading and Student Participation

The Department of Library and Information Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh, celebrated Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas- “Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Swabhiman” with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The event was organised to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India and to create awareness about it values and significance among students.

Chandigarh, November 27, 2025: The Department of Library and Information Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh, celebrated Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas- “Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Swabhiman” with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The event was organised to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India and to create awareness about it values and significance among students.
 
The students actively participated in the event. The event commenced with a brief introduction to Constitution Day, highlighted its historical importance and the remarkable role of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Constitution. A major highlighted of the event was the Collective reading of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution by students and faculty members, reaffirming their commitment to the ideals of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity.
 
Chairperson Prof. Rupak Chakravarty shared insights on the relevance of constitutional principles in modern society and encouraged students to become responsible citizens who contribute positively to the country’s democratic framework.
 
The event concluded with the vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the organizing team, faculty, and participating students for making the event successful and meaningful.
