Panjab University Invites Applications for Master of Public Health Programme for Academic Session 2026-27

The Centre for Public Health (CPH), South Campus, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, has invited applications for admission to its two-year Master of Public Health (MPH) programme for the academic session 2026-27. The programme carries 80 credits and aims to equip students with interdisciplinary knowledge and practical training in public health and healthcare management.

Chandigarh, June 1, 2026: The Centre for Public Health (CPH), South Campus, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, has invited applications for admission to its two-year Master of Public Health (MPH) programme for the academic session 2026-27. The programme carries 80 credits and aims to equip students with interdisciplinary knowledge and practical training in public health and healthcare management.
According to a press release issued by the University on Monday, admissions will be conducted through the PU-CET PG entrance examination. Interested candidates can register online through the CET-PG portal till June 9, 2026, while the entrance examination is scheduled to be held from June 19 to 21, 2026.
The programme offers 17 regular seats, 5 in-service seats, 2 NRI seats and 4 seats for foreign nationals. Admission will be based on a common merit list prepared by giving 50 per cent weightage to the entrance test score and 50 per cent weightage to overall graduation marks.
Candidates who have passed MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, B.VSc, BPH, BPT, B.Sc. Nursing, Life Sciences, Biological Sciences, Allied Sciences or equivalent degree with at least 50 per cent marks from a recognised university or institute under NEP-2020/CBCS/10+2+3 system are eligible to apply.
The course curriculum includes Public Health, Epidemiology, Maternal and Child Health, Occupational and Environmental Health, Biostatistics, Research Methodology, Health Economics, Health Promotion, Public Health Law and Ethics, Health Management, Global Health, Health Informatics, Public Health Programmes and Policies, Disaster Management, Mental Health, Geriatric and Adolescent Health, along with fieldwork, workshops and community outreach activities.
Internship opportunities are available with government organisations and agencies such as the National Health Mission and the Red Cross.
Graduates of the programme can pursue careers as Epidemiologists, Public Health Consultants, Health Programme Managers, Research Consultants and Monitoring and Evaluation Specialists in organisations including WHO, UN agencies, ICMR, NITI Aayog, NGOs and research institutions.
