Panjab University Invites Applications for Admission under Foreign National/NRI Categories; No Entrance Test Required
Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, has invited applications from candidates seeking admission to its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes under the Foreign National (FN), Non-Resident Indian (NRI), and Wards of NRI categories for the academic session 2026-27.
Chandigarh, July 16, 2026: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, has invited applications from candidates seeking admission to its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes under the Foreign National (FN), Non-Resident Indian (NRI), and Wards of NRI categories for the academic session 2026-27.
According to the University press release, candidates applying under these categories are not required to appear for any entrance test. Admissions will be made strictly on the basis of the prescribed eligibility criteria and merit.
This provision applies to all undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered by the University, except Dental Sciences, B.A. LL.B., B.Com. LL.B., University Business School programmes, and other courses governed by regulatory bodies where additional seats are not permitted.
The counselling for admission to the B.Sc. (Hons.) School programmes in various subjects are being held from 15th July to 17th July, 2026 at the Law Auditorium, PU, Sector 14, Chandigarh. Candidates seeking admission under the Foreign National/NRI/Wards of NRI categories are required to report to the Law Auditorium on 17th July, 2026 at 9.30 a.m. with all the requisite documents.
Candidates who are unable to attend the counselling on 17th July, 2026 may submit the duly filled offline application form, along with all the required documents, to the Office of the Dean International Students, PU, on or before 31st July, 2026. Such applications will be considered in accordance with the prescribed admission guidelines and subject to the availability of seats.
Candidates applying under the Wards of Foreign National or Wards of NRI category must be in a first-degree blood relationship with the Foreign National/OCI/PIO or Non-Resident Indian. First-degree blood relationship includes spouse, father, mother, siblings, paternal grandparents, and maternal grandparents.
