Panjab University Introduces Advanced Diploma in Fashion Entrepreneurship & Management
Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh has introduced a new Advanced Diploma in Fashion Entrepreneurship & Management for the academic session 2026-27.
Chandigarh, July 27, 2026: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh has introduced a new Advanced Diploma in Fashion Entrepreneurship & Management for the academic session 2026-27. The one-year, credit-based programme will be offered by the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) in collaboration with the University Institute of Fashion Technology & Vocational Development (UIFT & VD). The Course Coordinators of the programme are Prof. Geeta Bansal and Prof. Prabhdip Brar. Admissions to the programme will commence on July 27, 2026, and applications will be accepted till August 20, 2026.
The last date to submit a hardcopy of the application form and documents in CDOE (compulsory) is August 24, 2026. The provisional merit list will be displayed on September 3, 2026, followed by the first counselling session on September 10, 2026.
The programme has been designed to equip learners with advanced creative, technical and managerial skills required in the contemporary fashion industry. It integrates fashion design, garment construction, merchandising, branding, retail management, entrepreneurship and digital fashion tools, preparing graduates to establish their own fashion enterprises or pursue leadership roles in the fashion and apparel sector.
The course is open to graduates from any discipline with a minimum of 50 per cent marks for the General Category and 45 per cent for Reserved Categories. The programme will admit 100 students on the basis of merit, with reservations applicable as per PU norms.
The curriculum includes advanced fashion illustration and CAD, pattern making, garment construction, textile science, fashion marketing, retail and visual merchandising, trend forecasting, supply chain management, financial planning and entrepreneurship.
Students will also undertake internships, portfolio development workshops, industry interactions, a capstone project and a fashion showcase as part of the programme.
The hybrid learning model combines self-learning material, personal contact programmes, practical work and term-end examinations, providing students with both academic and industry-oriented exposure. The programme aims to prepare graduates for careers as fashion designers, stylists, merchandisers, fashion marketing executives, production coordinators and entrepreneurs.
