Panjab University Hosts "Gall Punjab Di" Conclave; Leadership Calls for Youth-Led Innovation and State-Wide Participation

Panjab University, Chandigarh today hosted the "Gall Punjab Di" Orientation Conclave, a landmark event aimed at mobilizing the intellectual capital of Punjab’s youth. The program, which brought together academic leaders and social visionaries, serves as the launchpad for a statewide academic challenge to solve Punjab’s most pressing socio-economic issues.

Chandigarh, March 11, 2026: Panjab University, Chandigarh today hosted the "Gall Punjab Di" Orientation Conclave, a landmark event aimed at mobilizing the intellectual capital of Punjab’s youth. The program, which brought together academic leaders and social visionaries, serves as the launchpad for a statewide academic challenge to solve Punjab’s most pressing socio-economic issues.

The event commenced with the Panjab University Anthem, followed by a series of high-impact addresses:

PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig, opened the conclave by emphasising that the youth must be active participants in the state's growth. She urged students to engage deeply at the college level, transforming academic knowledge into tangible solutions for the community.

Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad, a prominent social leader, delivered a stirring appeal to the students to "wake up" to their potential. He stressed that the "Gall Punjab Di" initiative is the ideal platform for the younger generation to take charge of Punjab’s future.

Ajaypal Singh Brar, founder of Misl Satluj, shared reflections from his MBA days at University Business School (UBS), PU. He noted that while Punjab has faced crises before, the state has always found a way through. "We solved it then, and we will solve it now," he asserted, encouraging a data-driven approach to rebuilding the state.

Prof. Ravi Inder Singh, Dean of College Development Council, provided a detailed analysis of Punjab’s present scenario. He highlighted successful startup examples, urging students to look toward entrepreneurship as a tool for regional development.
Technical Briefings & Execution Roadmap:

Following the keynote addresses, the technical framework of the initiative was presented. Dr. Rohit Kumar Sharma, Coordinator, briefed the audience on the core philosophy of "Gall Punjab Di." Chetan Sahore, National Head of ERDC, gave a detailed presentation on the "Why" behind the movement, connecting rural innovation with national academic standards. Prof. Anil K. Angrish provided a comprehensive presentation on the execution strategy, outlining how the challenge will be implemented across affiliated colleges.

The conclave ended on a high note, with a collective commitment to the theme: "Punjab Da Sawal - Tuhadda Jawab" (The Question is Punjab’s - The Answer is Yours).
