Panjab University Department of Defence and National Security Studies Concludes Two-Day Fest “KAVACH 3.0”
Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, Department of Defence and National Security Studies (DDNSS), concluded the two-day annual literary and cultural fest “KAVACH 3.0: रणनीति का रंगमंच” on campus. Organised under the guidance of Chairperson, Prof. Jaskaran Singh Waraich the fest aimed to strengthen engagement between the Armed Forces and youth while promoting awareness on national security.
Chandigarh, April 10, 2026: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, Department of Defence and National Security Studies (DDNSS), concluded the two-day annual literary and cultural fest “KAVACH 3.0: रणनीति का रंगमंच” on campus. Organised under the guidance of Chairperson, Prof. Jaskaran Singh Waraich the fest aimed to strengthen engagement between the Armed Forces and youth while promoting awareness on national security.
The second day featured an Army Horse Show at the UBS Ground, where equestrian skills were showcased to the university community for the first time. VSM, Director, Yadavindra Public School, Mohali, Maj. Gen. TPS Waraich attended as the chief guest.
NCC cultural activities segment of the programme, including a dance competition with participation from NCC units across Chandigarh. The performances reflected discipline and coordination among cadets. A Weapon Display remained a central attraction, offering students and visitors an opportunity to observe military equipment at close range.
The inaugural session was attended by Vice Chancellor PU, Prof. Renu Vig, and ADG NCC, Directorate PHHP&C, Maj. Gen. Bharat Mehtani. Following the Army Dog Show on the opening day, the fest sustained participation from students, NCC cadets representing Army, Air and Naval wings, veterans, and faculty members.
The event recorded significant footfall and concluded with a focus on fostering awareness of defence and national security.
