Panjab University Collaborates with Cambridge University Press & Assessment to Launch Certificate Course in English Proficiency
New initiative aims to strengthen English communication skills and support learners preparing for higher education, professional careers and global opportunities.
Chandigarh, July 15, 2026: Panjab University, Chandigarh in a significant initiative has announced its collaboration with Cambridge University Press & Assessment to launch the Certificate Course in English Proficiency (CCEP) to strengthen English language proficiency among students and young professionals.
The 30-hour classroom program is designed for a diverse audience, including students, working professionals, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and anyone seeking to improve their English communication skills.
The CCEP has been developed to help learners strengthen their spoken and written English through practical, application-oriented learning. The curriculum covers communication in academic and professional contexts, including presentations, discussions, workplace interactions and professional writing, enabling participants to develop greater confidence and fluency in real-life situations. All CCEP students will also receive online access to internationally acclaimed learning resources from the University of Cambridge.
The Department of English and Cultural Studies, Chairperson, Meenu Aggarwal Gupta stated that “Language is more than a means of communication—it is a gateway to learning, collaboration, and opportunity. Through this collaboration with Cambridge University Press & Assessment, PU aims to provide learners with access to globally benchmarked English language training and assessment that will support their academic aspirations and professional growth.”
The first cohort of the CCEP will commence shortly in Chandigarh. MYCANVAS Education Services Private Limited is the outreach partner for this initiative.
