Chandigarh, April 10, 2026: Panjab University (PU) Centre for Public Health, organised a Community Awareness Outreach Activity in collaboration with Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 23A, Chandigarh.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Chairperson, Centre for Public Health, Prof. Manoj Kumar and Principal GMSSS 23 A, Mrs. Nina Rastogi. The activity was coordinated by Ms. Poonam Sharma, Faculty Coordinator.
The outreach programme featured expert sessions on key health concerns affecting adolescents. Prof. Varsha addressed stress management, focusing on emotional well-being, healthy coping mechanisms, and practical strategies to manage academic and social stress.
Prof. Pihu delivered a session on substance abuse, with particular emphasis on tobacco use. The session covered the harmful effects of tobacco, pathways of exposure among adolescents, risks of addiction, and the importance of early prevention and informed decision-making.
