Chandigarh, February 26, 2026: The Department of Chemistry, Panjab University, proudly continues its tradition of fostering scientific growth and collaboration through its flagship annual event, the Prof. Ram Chand Paul Symposium, which has been successfully organized for over four decades.
This year’s symposium, titled “ChemInnovate: Bridging Science, Startups, and Employability,” reflects the evolving landscape where scientific research, entrepreneurial ventures, and meaningful employment are increasingly interconnected. The event will serve as a dynamic platform to bring together academia, industry leaders, startup innovators, and students from across India to explore opportunities, showcase cutting-edge innovation, and foster employability in the sciences. This year the Prof. Ram Chand Paul Symposium was inaugurated by Prof. Renu Vig, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University on 26th February 2026 in presence of Prof. G. R. Chaudhary, Chairperson Chemistry Department.
The two-day symposium is hosting nearly 250 delegates and is featuring more than 25 eminent speakers from IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, IIT Ropar, University of Hyderabad. Discussions were held spanning across scientific advancements, entrepreneurial pathways, and strategies to enhance employability for young researchers and graduates. One session was dedicated to the development Strengthening reliable and sustainable Water Treatment Strategies in Urban area.
Award of various distinguish memorial lectures namely Prof. O.P. Vig, Prof. Bawa Kartar, Prof. P. N. Vohra, Prof. D.V.S. Jain and Prof. D.S. Gill were conducted during this event. There was panel discussion with leading scientists, entrepreneurs, and industry experts showcasing innovative research.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig emphasised PU’s commitment to nurturing scientific endeavors and creating meaningful connections between research and society. She added that such symposiums promise to be a landmark occasion, reinforcing Panjab University’s role as a hub of innovation, collaboration, and academic excellence.
