Panjab University through its DST-Technology Enabling Centre (DST-TEC), in collaboration with the “I am SME of India” platform and SSM/NITI Aayog, organised a minute-to-minute Industry- Academia Meet at Faridabad. The programme was presided over by Joint Director, Swarn Jayanti Haryana Institute of Fiscal Management (SJHIFM), Government of Haryana, Prof. Neeru.

Chandigarh, March 17, 2026: Panjab University through its DST-Technology Enabling Centre (DST-TEC), in collaboration with the “I am SME of India” platform and SSM/NITI Aayog, organised a minute-to-minute Industry- Academia Meet at Faridabad. The programme was presided over by Joint Director, Swarn Jayanti Haryana Institute of Fiscal Management (SJHIFM), Government of Haryana, Prof. Neeru.
Chairman, Rajeev K. Chawla and DST-TEC Coordinator, Prof. Manu Sharma inaugurated the meet and emphasised the need for rapid commercialisation of technologies for MSMEs.
16 presentations were delivered on areas including non-intrusive energy monitoring, CNC data logging, wastewater and effluent treatment, industrial air purification, graphene from agri-waste, Voice-AI, computer vision-based inspection and pharmaceutical technologies.
The presentations were made by faculty members, research scholars and SMEs from CSIR-CSIO, PU, IIT Ropar, INST and other institutions.
Prof. Manu Sharma highlighted the role of academia in developing industry-ready solutions, while Rajeev K. Chawla encouraged industry stakeholders to actively evaluate innovations, undertake Transfer of Technology (ToT) and deploy promising technologies in their units. An open-house discussion facilitated collaborations between research institutions and regional industry.
