Panjab University Biophysics Faculty Wins NMRS Prof. S. Subramanian Lecture Award 2025
Panjab University's (PU) Department of Biophysics, has announced that the Selection Committee of the National Magnetic Resonance Society of India (NMRS) has selected Dr. Ravi Pratap Barnwal for the prestigious Prof. S. Subramanian 60th Birthday Lecture Award 2025.
Chandigarh, April 27, 2026: Panjab University's (PU) Department of Biophysics, has announced that the Selection Committee of the National Magnetic Resonance Society of India (NMRS) has selected Dr. Ravi Pratap Barnwal for the prestigious Prof. S. Subramanian 60th Birthday Lecture Award 2025.
The award recognises his contributions to structural biology, peptide design, protein NMR, RNA biology, RNA therapeutics, and drug development. Dr. Barnwal is currently serving as Assistant Professor under the UGC Faculty Recharge Programme since 2017.
The award is presented annually to an outstanding scientist working in any area of magnetic resonance. It was instituted through an endowment fund to honour Prof. S. Subramanian, formerly Professor of Chemistry at Indian Institute of Technology Madras and presently associated with the National Institutes of Health, Washington, D.C., USA. The honour comprises a cash prize of Rs. 10,000, along with a citation and certificate, and will be conferred during a special session of the NMRS symposium.
Previous recipients include faculty members from leading institutions such as Indian Institute of Science, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, the IITs, CSIR laboratories, and IISERs.
