Chandigarh, June 02, 2017: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh is all set to host the prestigious PU Combined Entrance Test (CET) (UG) which is to be organized on June 4 at PU and other centres of Chandigarh. Approximately, 11,000 candidates are appearing in this examination for which, 33 centres(18 in PU Campus) have been set up.
Prof Parvinder Singh, PU Controller of Examinations, reviewed the preparation for conducting the examination. He issued guidelines and directions for the smooth conduct of the examination.
PU has also announced the traffic routes for the PU Campus examinations centres, so that the candidates could enter from the appropriate gate and use the designated route only. The exercise has been carried out to avoid any rush/jam in the PU
Campus, PU Spokesman informed.
COE, PU informed that the students appearing for CET(UG) Entrance Test for which 18 centres have been set up in PU Campus shall follow the details as given below :
(i) The students appearing at examination centres Chandigarh 01 to 07 should enter the campus from the PU Gate No-1 opposite the PGI gate.
(ii) The students appearing at examination centres Chandigarh 08 to 11 should enter the campus from the PU Gate No-2 opposite Sector 15.
(iii) The students appearing at examination centres Chandigarh 12 to 14 should enter the campus from the PU Gate No-3.
(iv) The students appearing at examination centres Chandigarh 15 to 18 should enter the campus from South Campus opposite Gate No-3.
Other 15 Centres have been setup in various colleges of the Chandigarh City, which are outside the PU Campus, he further informed.
PU Spokesman informed that the students have been asked to reach their respective test centres atleast 25 minutes before the start of the test. No candidate reporting 15 minutes after the start of the test would be allowed to seat for the test. The candidates must bring their admit card with them, otherwise they will not be allowed to enter the test centre.
Parents are not allowed inside the Exam Centres. For their convenience they can only sit at the designated places i.e. in the University Auditorium.
The candidates are also advised to bring their Admit Card issued by the University along with some Photo Identity Proof. No candidate will be allowed to carry mobiles, electronic gadgets or any incriminating material inside the Exam Centre.
The candidates must bring only black ball/gel pens with them for answering the questions. The use of calculators will not be allowed. No candidate would be allowed to leave the examination hall/room before the expiry of the time allowed for the
examination.
There will be negative marking i.e. 25 percents marks would be deducted for every wrong answer.
PU has setup help desks at all the entry gates to guide the candidates to the examination centres. PU has also issued guidelines the traffic movement routes so that the candidates could enter from the designated gate/s and follow traffic guidelines. The exercise has been carried out to avoid any bottle neck traffic chaos in the PU Campus, COE, PU informed.
