Panchkula, February 18, 2026: The 2nd edition of the Panchkula Golf League now moves into its decisive knockout phase following the conclusion of an intensely contested Round Robin stage. After two weeks of competitive league play, the top four teams from each group have secured qualification for the quarterfinals scheduled for Thursday (February 19).
From Group A, the teams advancing in order of standings are Green Warriors, Highland Kings, Shivalik Swingers and Clubs on Flames. From Group B, the qualifiers are Hansa Legends, Par Tee Crashers, Tee Birds and Golfing Eagles. The cross-group format ensures that the top ranked sides will face lower ranked opponents from the opposite pool setting up intriguing contests across the draw which has produced compelling cross group matchups. Green Warriors will take on Golfing Eagles while Highland Kings face Tee Birds in the upper half of the bracket. In the lower half, Shivalik Swingers meet Par Tee Crashers and Clubs on Flames square off against Hansa Legends. With rankings now set aside, the contest shifts to direct elimination where one off performances and composure under pressure will determine who progresses. The winners from the upper half fixtures will meet in one semifinal, while the winners from the lower half will contest the other semifinal scheduled for Friday (February 20th). The losing semi-finalists will compete for third place on Sunday (February 22nd) which will also witness the high stakes Final where the two semi-finalist winners battle for the elusive Season 2 title.
The knockout stage will see a tactical shift in format from the cumulative Stableford system used in the Round Robin stage to a head-to-head Matchplay structure. Each contest between two teams will feature twelve players from either side with two players each competing in singles matches and the remaining ten forming five pairs for fourball better ball games. In simple terms, teams will now go directly up against each other in individual and paired matches with the side winning more games on the day progressing to the semifinals and finals. There is no restriction on how many rounds a player may represent their team during this stage adding a further strategic dimension to team selection.
Having navigated the demands of the Round Robin stage, the eight sides now enter a phase where every match carries immediate consequence. With standings reset and margins reduced to head-to-head battles, the knockout stage promises heightened pressure, strategic pairings and momentum swings defined by nerve and precision. Form and consistency built over the past two weeks will be tested against resilience and tactical discipline as the 2nd edition of the Panchkula Golf League approaches its decisive weekend.
