Palampur becomes first sub division to provide dialysis facility in government hospital

Dharamsshala, January 15, 2019: BJP MP from Kangra Lok Sabha ,Shanta Kumar and Health and Family Welfare Minister of Himachal, Vipin Singh Parmar jointly launched the dialysis facility, Red Cross Society's office and free night dinner facility at Civil Hospital, Palampur today. Ravindra Dhiman, MLA of Jaisinghpur and Mulkh Raj Premi, MLA of Baijnath were also present at this occasion. Shanta Kumar thanked ‘ Sarabat da Bhala’ institution for providing Dialysis facility in Palampur(a administrative sub division of District Kangra). He said , “ now with the availability of this facility in Palampur, people will not have to go for dialysis to far away places.” Shanta Kumar has given 10 lakh rupees for the maintenance of dialysis unit.

He said, “Another health institution of the area, the Vivekananda Trust of doing good job and now the a deluxe Senior Citizen Home will be constructed there at the cost of 11 crores and in the month of February, Union Health Minister will lay its foundation.”

Vivekanand Medical Trust, Palampur was opened in July 2013, is a reputed secondary & tertiary care hospital in Himachal Pradesh and was established under the Vivekanand Medical Trust. It is a multi-speciality hospital of Himachal Pradesh.

Health and Family Welfare Minister of Himachal, Vipin Singh Parmar said that strengthening of all the health institutions of the state is the priority of the government. He said that Palampur in the state is the first institute to initiate the Dialysis facility at Sub-Divisional level. He said that the dialysis facility will soon be started in Nurpur, Chamba, Nahan and Ponta Sahib. He directed the authorities to provide free dialysis facility to the poor .
