Chandigarh, July 29, 2026: Padma Shri awardee and celebrated Sufi and Punjabi folk singer Hans Raj Hans on Wednesday launched his new Punjabi song, ‘Aaja Doven Nachiye’, at a grand event held at Chandigarh University. The programme witnessed the participation of a large number of students, music lovers and distinguished guests.
Hans Raj Hans was accompanied by his sons and popular singers Yuvraj Hans and Navraj Hans. Eminent Punjabi literary personality Shamsher Singh Sandhu, music duo Desi Crew, lyricist Harpreet Sekhon, singers Gurlej Akhtar, Bobby Bajwa, Tanveer Gogi, Jeet Jagjit, Balbir Sufi, Bhatti Bhariwala, Daivi Singh, along with other artists associated with the song, also attended the event.
During the programme, the artists shared their experiences of creating the song. They revealed that the lyrics of ‘Aaja Doven Nachiye’ have been penned by Harpreet Sekhon, the music has been composed by Desi Crew, while the music video has been directed by Bobby Bajwa. They described the song as a beautiful fusion of traditional Punjabi folk music and contemporary musical style. The audience highly appreciated the musical chemistry between Hans Raj Hans and Yuvraj Hans.
The song was unveiled publicly for the first time during the launch and received thunderous applause from the audience, especially the students. The artists later interacted with students and members of the media, highlighting the importance of preserving Punjab’s rich musical heritage and passing it on to the younger generation.
The launch was held at the Seminar Hall of the Department of DACA, Chandigarh University, and was attended by several eminent personalities from the fields of education, music, films and social service. The event concluded on a vibrant cultural note, celebrating the richness of Punjabi folk music and tradition.
