With an aim to empower underprivileged children and enhance employability, Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust, inaugurated the Vocational Centre in March this year at its premises in Ludhiana.

Over 70 per cent NSKT Vocational Centre students get placed in leading industries of Ludhiana

Ludhiana, December 21, 2022: With an aim to empower underprivileged children and enhance employability, Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust, inaugurated the Vocational Centre in March this year at its premises in Ludhiana. In its first year journey, maximum placement opportunities were created and out of 162 certified students, 116 students successfully got placed in the leading industries at Ludhiana with an average monthly salary of Rs 10,000.

Rakesh Bharti Mittal, said, “In line with the Government of India ‘Skill India Mission (SIM)’ and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, we are committed to preparing skilled manpower for achieving inclusive and equitable growth for India’s economy. Our vocational centre, in less than a year, has achieved a breakthrough record of getting over 70% of its students placed in leading industries and we aim to enhance this further.”

The Vocational Centre is imparting training through Centum WorkSkills India Limited (CWSI), a leading skill development company. The 3 months course offers deep knowledge of GST and Tally to equip students with employability skills and also guest lectures to motivate them. An extensive mobilization drive is organized to encourage more student enrollment and at the end of the course, interactions are organized with prospective employers for placements.

In total, the centre has successfully enrolled 221 students across10 batches. The total fee for the course is Rs. 19,000,out of whichNehru Sidhant Kender Trustprovides a scholarship of Rs. 14,000 per studentwith household income less than Rs.5 lacs per annum. In special cases, the balance amount of Rs 5,000, is also being considered on merit by the Trust provided the income is less than Rs. 2.5 lacs per annum.
