Over 1,000 join Vishwa Shanti Yatra in Amritsar to walk together for peace , unity and humanity

Amritsar, September 20, 2026: More than 1,000 people came together on Sunday for the Vishwa Shanti Yatra, joining a powerful nationwide movement dedicated to peace, unity, love and human solidarity. The peace walk commenced from Company Garden, Amritsar, and proceeded through Mall Road, bringing together people from different sections of society with one common purpose — to stand for peace, to walk for peace and to spread the message of love and peace.
It was part of the nationwide Vishwa Shanti Yatra organised by Akhil Bharatiya Adhyatmik Samiti, held simultaneously across over 35 cities at more than 100 locations across the country,  bringing together spiritual organisations, communities, institutions and individuals in a collective expression of peace.
The gathering was graced by several distinguished personalities, including Gurjit Singh Aujla, MP Amritsar, Priyanka Sharma, Senior Deputy Mayor, Amritsar, Kunnickaa Sadanand, Surinder Singh Arora Veer from Shri Guru Ram Das Lok Bhalai Society, and Dr. P. S. Grover, Chairman of Medicaid Hospital and Past Rotary Governor. Sukhamrit Singh represented Akhil Bharatiya Adhyatmik Samiti in the Yatra .
The Yatra highlighted the larger purpose of the movement — to inspire every individual to recognise that peace is not merely something to be expected from governments, institutions or society, but something that must first begin within each one of us.
It also sought to take peace beyond an aspiration and make it an individual responsibility. It reflected this spirit as participants walked together irrespective of their backgrounds, professions, communities or traditions. The message was clear—peace belongs to everyone, and every individual has a role to play in creating peace within themselves, in their relationships, in their communities and in the wider world.
The Yatra also highlighted Bharat’s timeless spiritual ethos of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” — the world is one family. India’s spiritual heritage has always placed humanity, compassion and universal welfare at the heart of its wisdom traditions. Through the Vishwa Shanti Yatra, this spirit was expressed in a contemporary form — encouraging Bharat to share the values of wisdom, compassion, peace and responsibility towards the larger human family.
This nationwide initiative also carried three interconnected messages — the message of Vishwa Guru Bharat, the message of global peace, and the message of uniting Bharat for humanity.
