Orientation Programme Welcomes New Students at Department of Library and Information Science
The Department of Library and Information Science today organised an Orientation Programme for the newly admitted students of the Bachelor of Library and Information Science and Master of Library and Information Science programmes (Session 2025–26). The event saw active participation from all faculty members and research scholars.

Chandigarh, September 1, 2025: The Department of Library and Information Science today organised an Orientation Programme for the newly admitted students of the Bachelor of Library and Information Science and Master of Library and Information Science programmes (Session 2025–26). The event saw active participation from all faculty members and research scholars.
The programme began with a brief introduction to the university and department, presented by Mayurakshi, JRF. Faculty members then highlighted the various academic and infrastructural facilities available in the department. Students were informed about academic requirements, including house tests, snap tests, assignments, end examinations, annual field work, and attendance rules, to help them prepare for the academic year ahead. They were also guided to approach office staff and faculty for any queries.
Each student introduced themselves by sharing their educational background, fostering interaction and familiarity within the group.
The highlight of the programme was the motivational address by Dr. Neeza Singh, the chief guest. Drawing from her journey as a library professional, Dr. Singh inspired the students with valuable insights and advice. Her session was highly interactive, with enthusiastic participation from students and scholars alike.
