Mumbai, April 19, 2017: Orbis, a leading SEBI registered Custodian, Designated Depository Participant(DDP) and Derivatives Clearing Member, announced the induction of two new members to its Board - Mr.U.R.Bhat and Mr.Rajesh Narain Gupta and - they have been appointed as Independent Directors to the board of the company.

Mr. U.R. Bhat is one of India's well known investment managers having managed foreign institutional investments in Indian equities for more than two decades. He was the Chief Investment Officer of Jardine Fleming in India for 7 years, which subsequently became a part of JP Morgan. He joined the Dalton group, UK in 2005 to lead their entry into India and is currently Director of Dalton Capital Advisors (India) Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Bhat is an M.Sc. from IIT, Kanpur and has attended advanced courses on Finance at the Harvard Business School, Boston and Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, London.

He has been invited to the Boards of several companies in India as an independent Director. He is currently on the Board of The Karnataka Bank Ltd., Axis Asset Management Co. Ltd., Edelweiss Asset Management Ltd., IRIS Business Services Ltd., Subhkam Capital Ventures Pvt. Ltd., Repro India Ltd., Dalton Capital Advisors (India) Pvt. Ltd and BlueStreet Capital Management Pvt. Ltd.

Mr. Rajesh Narain Gupta is the Managing Partner at SNG & Partners, a leading Legal Firm having presence in Mumbai, New Delhi, Singapore and Qatar. Mr Gupta brings with him over 28 years of experience in corporate and transactional matters, including litigation. His area of specialization includes Banking and Finance, Commercial Laws, Real Estate and Private Client practice. He is an advisor to several foreign and Indian Banks, Financial Institutions, Corporate and Industrial Houses, Real Estate players. He has been a pioneer in India in Succession & Estate Planning.

Mr. Gupta is recognized amongst the top 100 lawyers in India in a definitive “A List” of India’s legal profession published by India Business Law Journal, in collaboration with the Indian Corporate Counsel Association (ICCA) in 2016.
