OPINION: "Capt. ke jane par gam nahi, Bajwa ke aane ki khushi nahi”

OPINION:

The success over success of Akali-BJP in Punjab has put the Congress in distress condition.  Number of senior and seasoned leaders of Congress have joined the Akali Dal and all those who have left the Congress, have held responsible Capt Amrinder Singh, former President PPCC and dissatisfied with his working style.  In the Moga bye election, Capt put his headquarter in the constituency itself for extensive campaigning in the villages but had he done this in 2012 elections of Assembly elections and coordinated with his party workers and leaders, there was no question of people leaving the Congress and speaking against him.

Just three days back, with removal of Capt. Amrinder Singh from president ship of the state, the change in his statements are being noticed, who used to speak on the dais against the Akali-BJP leaders and now attacking his own parties by saying that he would have suggested a better substitute, had he been consulted.

It is a matter of surprise that after the removal of Capt Amrinder Singh, none of the Congress leader has reacted and expressed his concern but at the same time, there is no open welcome to Partap Singh Bajwa, newly appointed Congress president.  It looks as if the Congress is conscious in Punjab and there is a need of ‘Sanjeevani’ to keep it alive but the questions who will bring that ‘Sanjeevani’ as no one seems to be visible who can do so in the Congress.

The couplet fits well: “Capt. Ke jane par gam nahi, Bajwa ke aane ki khushi nahi”

It is said that whenever there are heavy storms, the tree falls and small plants under it also damaged.  Similar is the position of Congress in Punjab.  After the removal of Capt from the post of President, PPCC, some existing and former MLAs are feeling themselves as “orphans” in the Congress and the silence of Congress is an indication towards big hurricane.  There are possibilities that Capt Amrinder Singh may not say ‘Good bye’ to Congress as from his statements in the press, it looks as if his time of separation from Congress has come.
