“Operation Sindoor Cricket Cup 2025” Starts at Panjab University

The much-awaited “Operation Sindoor Cricket Cup 2025”, a three-day cricket tournament organised to honor the unparalleled valor, sacrifice, and indomitable courage of the brave soldiers of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, started today at Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Chandigarh, October 27, 2025: The much-awaited “Operation Sindoor Cricket Cup 2025”, a three-day cricket tournament organised to honor the unparalleled valor, sacrifice, and indomitable courage of the brave soldiers of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, started today at Panjab University, Chandigarh.

The event commenced with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor among both the faculty and students, marking a heartfelt tribute from the student community to the guardians of the nation. The tournament aims to foster a spirit of unity, sportsmanship, and gratitude while strengthening the emotional and cultural bond between the civilian community and the armed forces.

Dr. Sagar Preet Hooda, Director General of Police, Chandigarh, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of the inaugural ceremony. Prof. Rakesh Malik, Directorate of Sports; Prof. Amit Chauhan, Dean Student Welfare; Prof. Namita Gupta, Dean Student Welfare (Women); Sunil Pal, National President, Sarv Sewa Sashaktikarn Sangthan and Dr. Naveen Kumar, Warden BH 4, Panjab University were also present on the occasion.

The tournament is being coordinated by Dr. Amandeep Singh, Associate Professor, Department of Evening Studies. Students namely Arsh Kamboj, Kulwinder Singh Kindi, Amit Sharma, Karan Sama and Karanveer Kumar Batti also played a vital role in keeping the event lively and well organised.
