“Operation Examination Phobia” being launched by Ek Umeed Foundation, Ludhiana at Circuit House, Ludhiana on Monday.

Ludhiana, March 18, 2014: The anxiety and panic of exams is taking toll on the students. Students in the absence of social and environmental i.e. family and friends’ support prefer to commit suicide than to face failure.
To combat this social evil effectively, “Operation Examination Phobia” was launched by Ek Umeed Foundation, Ludhiana at Circuit House, Ludhiana on Monday, in which over 100 professionals from various sectors participated. Dr. Manoj Lekhi the founder chairman of the foundation, Launched Helpline number 86 99 161 161 for counseling the students, parents and teachers. The invited Chief Guest was Dr. Gurbhajan Gill, President of Punjab Sahit Academy, Ludhiana while guests of honours were Paramjit Kaur Chahal, D.E.O, Ludhiana, Dr. J.S.Dhiman, Additional Director (Research), P.A.U, Ludhiana, Dr. C.K.Singh, Director, Ishmeet Singh Music Institute, Ludhiana and Prof P.K.Keshap, Director, Spoken English Training Centre, Ludhiana.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr J.S.Dhiman, Additional Director (Research), P.A.U, Ludhiana spoke on the various objectives of the foundation and appreciated that the foundation will provide free legal help to the poor and needy in addition to many other services.
He recommended that parents’ emotional support to the child is most important to overcome this social evil. Exams are for gaining knowledge and not for scoring marks was stated to the attendees. Tell your child to compete with her/him past performance than to compare the performance with others.
Prof P.K.Keshap was of the opinion that right light home cooked food and taking plenty of water along with right deep breathing helps the children to meet the challenges posed by exam stress.
An interaction session was also held in which the participants exchanged their views on exam stress.
