Ludhiana, March 21, 2014: A 25 member strong delegation of Offset Printers’ Association (OPA) is leaving for London to attend the IPEX 2014 exhibition from 24 to 29 March. Held once in four years, IPEX is the biggest English speaking trade fair of the world.  Speaking on the occasion, Parveen Aggarwal said, ‘Printing is the only industry in India which is growing at 18% per annum, and there is great capability to undertake the global outsourced printing and packaging work in India. Ludhiana is being developed as the ‘Printing and Packaging Cluster’ with the help of the Ministry of MSME, GOI and this group visit to IPEX may prove a landmark for the overall growth of this sector’.
Giving details about the visit Kamal Chopra said, the visit to IPEX is being organised under International Cooperation Scheme of the Ministry of MSME, GOI and the Government has already sanctioned Rs.9,50,000 for this group visit being organised by the Offset Printers Association (OPA). In this group visit, Mr. Chopra said, 25 printers, (8 from Ludhiana, 2 from Phagwara, 2 from Jalandhar, 9 from Coimbatore, 2 from Tirpur and 2 from Sivakasi) are participating under the banner of OPA.  The group will visit IPEX from March 24 to 28 and then to Istanbul (Turkey) for 3 days before coming back to India on March 31.
Chopra further said that we have received invitations from some trade associations of Istanbul and London to discuss the possible areas of cooperation for the overall growth of printing and packaging industry. During this visit, he said, we are going to sign some cooperation agreements with the Electronic Publishing Association, Istanbul Print Media Association and British Print Federation etc.
Giving his blessings to the delegation, S S Dhillon, Director MSME DI, Ludhiana said, OPA is definitely working with one step forward in all the fields, he would like to congratulate the management of this body. OPA is the leading association of the region to organise such group visits, it is for the 7th time that the delegation of OPA is visiting under I/C scheme of the GOI. OPA, perhaps is the leading association of India to avail the maximum benefit under this scheme. “I am happy to see the working, dedication and growth of this association”, he said, adding, “I highly appreciate the imitative taken by the OPA officials in organizing this group visit and wish all the group members a happy and knowledgeable journey.”
