Online national conference on “Recent Advances in Life Science: Omics and Computational Approaches”

Chandigarh, March 16, 2022: Centre for Systems Biology and Bioinformatics, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized a two days online national conference on “Recent Advances in Life Science: Omics and Computational Approaches” on the 15th and 16th march 2022. The Chairperson and Organiser Dr.Tammanna R. Sahrawat introduced the theme of the conference followed by Inaugural speech delivered by Prof. Prince Sharma, former Dean Science and Professor Department of Microbiology, Panjab University. The plenary talk was delivered by Prof. Jagtar Singh, Dept of Biotechnology and DSW PU followed by expert talks by renowned scientists Prof. Prasad V. Bharatam, NIPER, SAS Nagar, Prof. T. S. Keshava Prasad, Yenepoya University, Mangalore, Prof. Sangeeta Saxena, Head Department of Biotechnology, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow, Prof. Suresh Kumar Gahlawat, Head Department of Biotechnology & Dean Academic Affairs, Ch. Devi Lal University, Sirsa and Prof. Rupinder Tewar, DPIIT-IPR Professor, Founder Chairperson, Dept. Microbial Biotechnology, PU.

Scholars from various institutes Maharshi Dayanand University, Sharda University, Maharaja Agrasen University, Baba Mastnath University, Rohtak, Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib, MM Modi College, Patiala and Panjab University attended. The conference ended with the valedictory session where best presentation awards were conferred by Dr. Renu Vig, DUI, PU from the over 20 oral and poster presentations by the Ph.D. scholars and PG students. The conference provided an interdisciplinary platform for researchers and academics involved in bioinformatics, biotechnology and allied areas to exchange knowledge and gain insight into the state of art into the current technology, techniques and solutions in life sciences.
