An online meeting of Principals of Education and Professional Colleges affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh, was convened by the Dean College Development Council Prof. Sanjay Kaushik today under the chairmanship of Prof. Renu Vig, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Chandigarh, March 3, 2023: An online meeting of Principals of Education and Professional Colleges affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh, was convened by the Dean College Development Council Prof. Sanjay Kaushik today under the chairmanship of Prof. Renu Vig, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh.  40 (Forty) colleges represented by their Principals/Officiating Principals/nominees attended the online meeting.

Prof Sanjay Kaushik initiated the meeting by putting forward the agenda for the meeting. All six agenda items sent to the principals were discussed in the meeting. 

Prof. Renu Vig, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor stressed upon the need of continuous upgradation in the syllabi which is job oriented. It was suggested to the principals to encourage the teachers to develop such type of software of teaching material that can help teachers to teach anywhere.  Education colleges should teach one course on entrepreneurship as there is a huge scope for B.Ed Students if they are unable to choose their career as a teacher because there are many startups where students can develop online teaching material and can earn money also.

Regarding NAAC Accreditation, Prof. Sanjay Kaushik requested the Principals to proceed for NAAC Accreditation process. He assured the colleges that University is always with the colleges to provide any kind of help. He requested the education and professional colleges to appoint regular principals, where there are vacancies, and meanwhile appoint senior most faculty as officiating principal in the absence of regular principals in their colleges.  Efforts should be made for appointment of regular faculty in the colleges well in time.
