Rohtak, May 12, 2026: On the occasion of International Nurses Day, a blood donation camp was organized by the Nurses Association, PGIMS Rohtak, at the Ch. Ranbir Singh OPD complex. The Blood Donation Camp was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr. H.K. Agarwal, Vice-Chancellor of Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak. Director Dr. S.K. Singhal and Medical Superintendent Dr. Kundan Mittal were present as Guests of Honor.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. H.K. Agarwal said that the nursing staff constitutes the backbone of any hospital. From the COVID-19 pandemic to every emergency situation, nurses have served patients by putting their own lives at risk. By undertaking a noble act like blood donation today, the Nurses Association has further elevated its commitment to its social responsibility. He emphasized that a single unit of blood has the potential to save four lives.

Director Dr. S.K. Singhal remarked that empowered nurses play a life-saving role not only within hospital wards but also within society at large. Appreciating the blood donation camp organized by the Nurses Association, Medical Superintendent Dr. Kundan Mittal noted that the nursing staff provides round-the-clock care to patients.

Dr. Gajendra, Head of the Blood Bank Department, informed that approximately 101 units of blood were collected during the camp. Manoj Khatana and Vikas Phogat from the Nurses Association said that certificates of appreciation were presented to the blood donors on behalf of the association. Executive Nursing Superintendent Sudesh, DNS Honey Prabha, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
