One member of the robbers’ gang arrested in unsuccessful robbery attempt

Ferozepur, February 24, 2022: Panic spread following an “unsuccessful robbery attempt” which took place during broad day light in Mallawala block of Zira sub-division. One of the members of the robber’s gang was arrested by the police while three others managed to flee.

As per information available, the accused identified as Gurdev Singh, Amritpal, Gurjant Singh, Vicky along with one unknown person, reached at the office of a private finance company. The accused, who had their face covered demanded cash from Suresh Kumar, Branch Credit Manager (BCM) today morning at around 9.15 am.

Meanwhile, several people gathered outside the building following which the accused jumped from the office building which was situated on the first floor. One of the accused identified as Gurdev Singh, resident of Village Joura in Tarn Taran district got injured while the other accused managed to flee in their car. The other accused also fired in the air before leaving.

As soon as the matter was reported senior police officials including SSP Narinder Bhargav reached the spot and took stock of the situation. The police have booked the accused under sections 393, 398 IPC and 25 Arms Act at Mallanwala police station (FIR No. 29 Dated 24.02.2022).

When contacted, SSP Narinder Bhargav said that the police will nab the other accused soon.
