One-day workshop for Mid-Day Meal cooks held
A one-day workshop was organized on Wednesday by the Punjab Mid-Day Meal Society at Government Primary School, PAU.
Ludhiana, February 11, 2026: A one-day workshop was organized on Wednesday by the Punjab Mid-Day Meal Society at Government Primary School, PAU.
While sharing information about the workshop, the school headmistress, Sumanpreet stated that around 30 cooks participated in this workshop.
Special participation was made by Punjab State Food Commission Chairman Bal Mukand Sharma, Chairman, and Member Chetan Prakash Dhaliwal.
During the workshop, Dean Kiran Bains and Dr. Monika Verma from PAU provided suggestions and motivated the cooks to maintain proper cleanliness while preparing and serving food.
Along with this, the Mid-Day Meal workers were made aware about the preparation of kaanji (fermented rice water/gruel). Information was also given about the benefits children receive from drinking kanji.
On this occasion, District Mid-Day Meal In-charge Davinder Kaur and Block Level Mid-Day Meal In-charge Jagjit Singh were also present.
