The fifth state in India, Gujarat, celebrates its State Foundation Day on May 1st every year to honour the remembrance of the struggle done by people to have a separate state. Two new states were born in 1960, namely Maharashtra and Gujarat Day. On the 62nd Gujarat Foundation Day, &TV’s artists from Gujarat- Soma Rathod (Amma Ji from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai) and Aryan Prajapati (Hritik from Happu Ki Ultan Patlan), express their regional pride and convey their best wishes as they come together to celebrate this special day.

Soma Rathod (Amma Ji) shares, "The day marks the foundation of the rich legacy state of Gujarat, often called the ‘Jewel of Western India’. The day is celebrated across the state with a special parade at the Sabarmati Waterfall in Ahmedabad. It is a state filled with natural and man-made wonders. There are so many places that I love to explore again and again. The state appeals to me since it has the best scenic beauty, temples, superb infrastructure, delicious food, and the Rann of Kutch. It is a proud state with a wide range of diverse destinations and attractions. I believe that people who come to Gujarat get bonded with its charisma because life itself is a celebration here. On our State Foundation Day, a big shout-out and greetings to everyone from Gujarat”.

Aryan Prajapati (Hritik) shares, "Honestly! When we travel around the Indian subcontinent, Gujarat comes across as an imperial monarchy. It has Garba rhythms and Mahatma Gandhi's teachings. My maternal family is in Gujarat, so I go there with my mum whenever I get a vacation. It is a state that has a sky full of kites and a food platter that pleases every visitor’s cultural appetite. I recently visited Gujarat to witness the tallest statue in the world of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. It is twice the size of the Statue Of Liberty. The area around the statue is a comprehensive tourist destination, and I enjoyed it completely with my family. We saw a sound and laser show, butterfly garden, cactus garden, Ayurvedic wellness centre, eco-friendly and medicinal plant nursery, handicraft stores, the valley of flowers, forest with native trees, children's park with train and mirror maze, safari park and zoo, zip-lining, white water rafting, cycling, and boating on the lake. It is indeed a joyous moment for all of us, and we wish everyone a Happy Gujarat State Foundation Day”.
