The Ludhiana Jewellers Association on Saturday sponsored the vaccine for its members, workers, and consumers and held a vaccination camp at the local Sutlej Club.

Ludhiana: Giving an overwhelming response to the appeal of Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma, The Ludhiana Jewellers Association on Saturday sponsored the vaccine for its members, workers, and consumers and held a vaccination camp at the local Sutlej Club.

Kick-starting the inoculation camp for persons aged between 18 and 44 years, Member of Legislative Assembly Surinder Dawar and Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma along with Additional Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kumar, appreciated the goldsmith body and said this would set an example for other trade bodies and individuals to donate the vaccine for the needy people in this age bracket.

They said that vaccine for 45+ population is already being administered free of cost in the government health institutions and the need of the hour is to stand with the needy people below 45 by sponsoring vaccine for them which would save their lives from the anticipated third wave of Covid-19.

They told that it is a great and unparalleled service to humanity and urged other markets, hoteliers, restaurants, garments associations to come forward and sponsor vaccines for members and workers who are between the age of 18 and 44 years.

They said that history will remember those who gave top priority to the health and wellbeing of their employees/workers and others by sponsoring life-saving jab to them.

MLA and Deputy Commissioner said that people need vaccines right now not concentrators, masks, sanitizers, oxygen cylinders as the situation is now getting normal, and added that aggressive vaccination of maximum people would ensure building herd immunity and prevent this wave.

They also planted a sapling in the club to observe World Environment Day.
