Dharamsala, February 26, 2022: Ex-Minister and national Congress party secretary Sudhir Sharma said that Congress if chosen to power in Himachal shall implement old pension scheme in Himachal on priory.
Sudhir said, “Recently, the Congress-led government in Rajasthan and its Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot have decided to implement the old pension scheme in the state, which is a welcome step. As well as the old pension scheme’s delegation, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi was promised a similar step by all congress governments in the country. All the top Congress leaders in Himachal have also repeatedly said that whenever the Congress government comes to power in Himachal, the old pension scheme will be implemented on priority basis wherever the Congress government is formed.”
Amid ongoing protests by government employees under New Pension Scheme seeking the old pension scheme, the Leader of Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri too on Thursday vowed to restore it after coming into power in Himachal Pradesh.
Participating in the Thanks Motion on Governor’s address that was brought by BJP legislator Rajiv Bindal, Agnihotri advised Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur to stop threatening the employees and consider their demands sympathetically.
“The way the CM was reacting to the protest of government employees shows that he is drunk on power. All the government employees are staging protests in support of their demands as the government hasn’t provided pay commission benefits properly and there is a situation of confusion among the employees,” he added.
