C Viswanath, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Food Corporation of India, Headquarters, New Delhi on Saturday visits Khanna Grain Market.
Khanna/Ludhiana, April 26, 2014: C Viswanath, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Food Corporation of India, Headquarters, New Delhi visited Khanna Grain Market to oversee the wheat procurement operations.
He was accompanied by Sudhir Garg, Executive Director (N), FCI, Zonal Office, (North), Noida, D.S.Grewal, Secretary (Food), Govt of Punjab, Chandigarh and Kumar Rahul, General Manager (R), FCI, R.O., Pb., Chandigarh. During the course of his visit, he interacted with the farmers and Katcha Arhatiyas on the procurement related issues.
A deputation from the Roller Flour Millers and Traders also met him.
He also held a meeting with all the Agency Heads and directed not to store any wheat on Katcha during the current procurement season and also instructed to ensure timely payments to the farmers.
