NZOACON 2025 held at DMC&H

The Department of Orthopaedics at DMC&H organized a three-day conference NZOACON 2025, the 43rd Annual Conference of the North Zone Orthopaedic Association, with the theme titled  "Challenges and Breakthroughs in Orthopaedics: New Insights in Management using Innovation and Technology." The conference was attended by 170 speakers and 400 delegates from across the world.

Ludhiana, May 3, 2025: The Department of Orthopaedics at DMC&H organized a three-day conference NZOACON 2025, the 43rd Annual Conference of the North Zone Orthopaedic Association, with the theme titled  "Challenges and Breakthroughs in Orthopaedics: New Insights in Management using Innovation and Technology." The conference was attended by 170 speakers and 400 delegates from across the world.

The event provided a platform to share knowledge, discuss the latest advancements, and delve into new innovations in surgical techniques and patient care. The conference saw participation from surgeons, researchers, healthcare professionals. Various workshops, scientific sessions, and hands-on training, covering essential topics like robotic surgery, advanced joint replacement methods, spinal surgery and paediatric orthopaedics.

Dr. Rajnish Garg, Organizing Chairperson and Professor & Head of Orthopaedics, extended a warm welcome to all distinguished guest speakers and delegates. He shared that the three-day conference aimed to provide a comprehensive learning experience through specialized workshops, including Foot and Ankle Surgery, Advanced Knee Arthroscopy, Advanced Knee Techniques, Robotic Total Knee Replacement (TKR), Spine Surgery, Pelvi-Acetabulum Surgery, Pediatric Orthopaedics, and Primary Hip Arthroplasty.

Giving information about the conference, Dr Grag shared that the first day was featured a hands-on Cadaveric Workshop, where participants had the chance to practice and refine their surgical skills in real anatomical settings, offering them valuable practical experience. Additionally, over 200 papers and posters were presented by budding orthopaedic surgeons, covering a wide range of topics and showcasing groundbreaking research, clinical innovations and personal experiences in the field.

Dr. Garg also highlighted the immense value of the Cadaveric Workshops on Knee and Hip Robotic Surgeries, which were widely appreciation. These workshops provided an opportunity for participants to learn and interact with the latest advancements in robotic-assisted surgery offered invaluable hands-on experience and deepening their understanding of this cutting-edge technology.

In his message, Bipin Gupta, Secretary DMC&H Managing Society, said that DMC&H has always been on the forefront to conduct such conferences to update the academic and practical knowledge of budding doctors and surgeons. Department of Orthopaedics DMC&H has state of the art facilities to cater the need of the patient of the region highlighted Sh Gupta.
