Nurses week observed from May 6- 12

Ludhiana, May 12, 2022: DMCH College of Nursing, celebrated Nurses week from 6th- 12th May 2022 with great exuberance by organizing various competitions under the International Nurses Day 2022 theme “Nurses: A voice to lead - invest in nursing and respect rights to secure global health”.
All celebrations of nurses week were concluded on 12th May. The program commenced with the welcome address of the chief guest of the day Sh. Prem Kumar Gupta, Honourable Secretary, DMCH managing society. Dr Ashwani K Chaudhary Medical Supdt., Dr. Triza Jiwan Principal DMCH College of Nursing and other faculty members of Nursing College were present on the occasion. Anureet revealed the history of Florence Nightingale and Kapil Sharma unfolded the theme of nurse’s day.
Prem Kumar Gupta said this global pandemic has shown the world that nurses play an important role in keeping people healthy. Principal, Dr. Triza Jiwan emphasized that it’s time to protect, support, and invest in the nursing profession to strengthen health systems around the World.
Final year students took the oath under the mentorship of Vice Principal, Prof. Nidhi Sagar and Principal, Dr. Triza Jiwan, Nursing Superintendent Sunita Debspread the light to the students. Cultural activities and choreography on Sacrifices of Frontline Workers in Pandemic were performed by B.Sc. nursing students.
Results were announced by Sumeet Jassal and Rinky Masih and certificates were awarded to the meritorious and winners by Dr.Ashwani Chaudhary, Medical Superintendent and dignitaries. The program proceeded with a cake cutting ceremony and vote of thanks was proposed by Anureet.
During the occasion of Nurses day an event was organized by Hero DMC Heart Institute.  Prem Kumar Gupta, Secretary DMCH Managing Society along with Sunila Gupta Member DMCH Managing Society, Vice Principal Dr G S Wander and Medical Supdt. Dr Bishav Mohan congratulated all the nurses and honoured them for their contribution in patient care.
