Jalandhar, March 11, 2023: Lyallpur Khalsa College is committed for the overall development of its students and leaves no stone unturned in giving them the right impetus to lead a life with high morals and ethics. Keeping this in view, NSS Units LKC organized a One Day seminar on Drug De Addiction in the campus. 

The key speakers were Dr. Abhayraj Singh, Psychiatrist, Civil Hospital, Jalandhar, Manohar Singh Bharaj, Executive Director, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Babandeep Singh ACP, Jalandhar Cantt and Social Worker Varinder Sharma. 
Principal Prof. Jaseen Kaur welcomed the speakers and in her message said that it is our duty to educate the youth about the negative impacts of drugs and how they can stay away from this menace.  

Dr. Singh in a very interactive session explained various drug forms and their impacts on body and social; structure. He scientifically discussed the reasons for drug addiction and presented viable solutions to this issue. 

ACP Singh explained various legal proceedings that a person goes through if he/she is booked for drug usage. 

Bharaj and Sharma emphasised on the need of mental strength and meditation to negate the lures of drugs. NSS Programme Officer Prof Satpal Singh informed that a pledge to stay away from drugs and to keep our acquaintances away from this was also taken. He added that in the interactive session students cleared their doubts regarding how to tackle druggists and reporting of drug abuse in the society. 

During this seminar, Lion SM Singh, Capt. Jaswinder Singh, Tarsem Jalandhari and SP Singh from NGO Disha Deep were also present.
