On the occasion of 75th Independence Day

NSS unit of Lyallpur Khalsa College celebrated 'Azadi Ka Amrit  Mahautsav' 

Jalandhar: NSS unit of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar celebrated 'Azadi Ka Amrit  Mahautsav' on the occasion of 75th Independence Day. Under the guidelines of the Government of India, over the last two months, 12 activities were dedicated to India's freedom such as Swacchhta Survey, Yoga Pose Contest, PPT presentation, Panel discussion etc. These events were held under the able guidance and planning of the Principal of the College, Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra and supervision of NSS Chief Program Officer Prof. Satpal Singh. About 250 NSS volunteers participated enthusiastically in these events. Continuing the series, on 75th freedom anniversary a panel discussion on the theme 'Self-Reliance India Campaign and the Role of Youth' was organized. In this discussion volunteers Manjinderjit Singh, Mahima Jain, Radhika, Reetika Parmar, Sakshi Sharma, Poonam and Ayush put forward their views. Judges of the event were Dr. Navneet Arora and Dr. Geetanjali Mahajan. NSS Chief Program Officer Prof. Satpal Singh read the brief report of activities and announced the final results of the students' participation in all the activities. 
Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra through his message, motivated the students to go ahead and serve the society as much as possible to make the country's independence a success. So that the dream of a successful, self reliant and ideal India, that our patriots and revolutionaries dreamed of, could come true. The chief guest Dr. Surinderpal Mand, Dean Student Welfare congratulated all the students and encouraged them to have a positive attitude towards the society and do something meaningful in life. On this occasion Nitya Nand, District Coordinator, Nehru Yuva Kendra also addressed the gathering and congratulated the volunteers of NSS unit of Lyallpur Khalsa College for always being vigilant towards the society and participating in social welfare activities. At last, Program officer Dr. Amandeep Kaur thanked everyone for participating in the program. Dr. Priyank Shardha made all the arrangements to run the program online. 
On this occasion, Dr. Gopal Singh Butter, Head Department of Punjabi, Prof. Sanjeev Anand, Dr. Inderjit Kaur, Prof. Sukhdev Singh, Prof. Surbjit Singh, Dr. Navjot Kaur, Dr. Jyoti Vohra, encouraged the students by participating in the event. The event concluded with national anthem.
