NSS unit Lyallpur Khalsa College culminated anti stubble burning campaign

Jalandhar, November 2, 2021: NSS unit of Lyallpur Khalsa unit started a two week awareness campaign against anti stubble burning. College principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra initiated the drive and said we have our duty to make people understand the harmful effects of stubble burning. There are many other ways like mulching, decomposting and stocking to handle remains of paddy crop. He emphasised that youth that can bring a change in the thinking process of us. They have to take this message to the field also. Chief program officer Satpal Singh informed that the campaign started with a rally in the campus where students raised slogans to aware youth regarding anti stubble burning. Then, as Principal Dr. Samra suggested, volunteers were divided into several groups and given the task to aware the masses about harmful effects of stubble burning. During this 14 day drive, volunteers rallied at Sultanpur Lodhi Grain market, Bein river road, Sultanpur Rural, Jalandhar City, Talhan, Budhiana, Bhullarai, Phagwara, Baupur Khurd, Shahkot and spread the message of not burning stubble and suggested some ways to handle the stubble for useful purposes.  During this drive, Program officers Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Prof. Navneet Arora and Prof. Priyank Sharda guided the volunteers.
