NSS Panjab University Marks 56th Foundation Day with Awards Ceremony on Theme ‘Viksit Bharat’

Chandigarh, September 25, 2025: National Service Scheme (NSS), Panjab University, celebrated its 56th Foundation Day today on the theme “Viksit Bharat.”
On this occasion, the NSS Panjab University Awards were conferred upon the Best Units and Best NSS Volunteers from colleges of Punjab and Chandigarh affiliated to Panjab University. 68 colleges filled the nomination for NSS Panjab University Award. Among them 9 colleges of Punjab and Chandigarh affiliated to Panjab University were awarded as the BESt Unit , Panjab University was also awarded as the Best NSS Unit for which the Dr. Sonia Sharma, Programme Officer was awarded . Certificates of appreciation were also presented to Programme Officers and NSS volunteers for their contributions.
Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig congratulated all the award recipients and motivated students and faculty members to dedicate their efforts towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
The event was organised under the leadership of Dr. Parveen Goyal, NSS Programme Coordinator, along with all Programme Officers of NSS, Panjab University.
The event also witnessed the active participation of college principals, NSS units, and volunteers from affiliated institutions, reflecting the university’s commitment to fostering youth leadership and community engagement.
