NSS Panjab University Celebrates Van Mahotsav at Khuda Lahora

The National Service Scheme (NSS), Panjab University, Chandigarh, celebrated Van Mahotsav with a plantation drive at Khuda Lahora, an adopted village of the University. The event was held under the theme "Ek Paudha Maa ke Naam" and was conducted in collaboration with Punjab-EIACP Hub, PSCST.

Chandigarh, July 14, 2025: The National Service Scheme (NSS), Panjab University, Chandigarh, celebrated Van Mahotsav with a plantation drive at Khuda Lahora, an adopted village of the University. The event was held under the theme "Ek Paudha Maa ke Naam" and was conducted in collaboration with Punjab-EIACP Hub, PSCST.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from the village residents, especially children, who actively took part in planting saplings. The young participants led the initiative, symbolising a hopeful future rooted in environmental consciousness. Refreshments were distributed to the children as a token of appreciation for their efforts.

A collective pledge on environmental conservation was taken by both residents and children, reinforcing the community’s commitment to protecting and nurturing nature.

Members of the Punjab-EIACP Hub, PSCST commended the dedication of the NSS volunteers and the children. Addressing the gathering, the officials emphasised the significance of plantation, particularly the value of medicinal plants in daily life. They also highlighted the importance of inculcating environmental awareness at a young age. The presence of children planting saplings in the rain added a special charm to the celebration.
