No Place for Violence in Guru Ghar, Attack on Sukhbir Badal Condemnable: Randhawa

Wished Sukhbir Badal a speedy recovery

Chandigarh, August 13, 2026: Former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister and Member of Parliament Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa strongly condemned the attack on Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal, who had come to seek refuge in the presence of the Guru, describing the incident as extremely unfortunate and condemnable. He said that such incidents cannot be accepted under any circumstances. He offered a prayer at the feet of Waheguru Ji and wished Sukhbir Badal a speedy recovery.
Randhawa said that attacking anyone who has come under the protection of the Guru is completely condemnable and unacceptable. The Sri Guru Granth Sahib and the Guru Ghar impart the message of peace, tolerance, brotherhood, and the welfare of all humanity. There can be no place for violence in or around such a sacred place.
He said that it is the responsibility of every individual to maintain the sanctity and decorum of religious places. Turning any political or personal differences into violence is against Punjab’s peaceful and tolerant tradition.
