Nilokheri, July 7, 2026: It is our collective responsibility to ensure that the history of Nilokheri is not confined merely to books but that the new generation is connected to its glorious heritage. Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan, Director of the Haryana Institute of Rural Development (HIRD), expressed these sentiments while addressing a meeting of councilors at the Nilokheri Municipal Council regarding the arrangements of the 'Nilokheri Utsav'.
The meeting was presided over by Municipal Council Chairperson Sanmeet Kaur Ahuja. It was unanimously decided at the meeting that, starting this year, the celebration of Nilokheri's foundation would be officially observed between July 15 and July 19. During this period, homage will be paid to ancestors through a ‘Havan Yajna’ at the town's Gol Market Park. Additionally, a 'Har Ghar, Ek Paudha’ campaign will be launched to convey a message of environmental conservation; with a pledge to plant a sapling in every household in Nilokheri. It was also decided that a seminar would be organized on July 19 as part of the Nilokheri Utsav. Through this festival, Nilokheri's glorious history, cultural heritage, and journey of development will be showcased to the general public.
